The Paolo Vi racecourse in Taranto and the Blue Butterfly association have become the protagonists of a particularly interesting initiative. The Blue Butterfly association, founded at the end of last year, aims to give autistic children a life full of meaning, made up of authentic relationships and integration. Precisely for this reason, in agreement with sisters Anita and Milva Carelli, the driving force behind the Paolo Vi racecourse in Taranto, a project has been launched that, through three different meetings, aims to familiarise the children with horses and with the life of the racecourse in all its aspects. Yesterday, in fact, was the second of the three planned meetings, with a walk through the stables and lunch at the racecourse, but also with the chance to socialise with the horses, first and foremost the splendid Hablador. ‘The kids were really enthusiastic about the life at the stables,’ said Anita Carelli, “they wanted to know everything about how a race is organised and how it takes place, they listened to the various explanations very carefully.”
No less than 28 children from the association were present at the racecourse. Maria Spada from the Blue Butterfly association illustrated the project and explained how ‘We will reach the top of this interaction process at the next meeting when Dr Donato Sarcinelli, a psycho-pedagogist, will be present. He will illustrate to the children all the potential of these splendid animals and then enlighten the parents on the many benefits that the gentleness and availability of the horse can bring to their children.’
