Rider
In horse riding the rider is the one who practices equestrian sports. These are divided into two large groups: the Olympic specialties, represented by Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping, and the non-Olympic specialties, such as driving, polo, vaulting, endurance, horse riding country riding, American horse riding and cross country.
Whatever equestrian sport is practiced, the rider must possess skills of dexterity, balance and coordination. The movement of the horse and the conditions of the race require, in fact, continuous postural adaptation in order to maintain balance in the saddle. But beyond athletic skills, it takes passion for horses and sensitivity. A rider must not only be physically united with his horse, but also emotionally and mentally.
As with equestrian disciplines, the rider must be in possession of a license which certifies his level and which allows him access to the various sporting competitions.
