FORTUNADRAGO AT 50 AGAINST 1 FOR THE 6TH GP FIRENZE OF ENRICO BELLEI

Fortunadrago Font has not raced since 1 November, or rather since his fourth place in the final of the Gran Premio Orsi Mangelli, but as announced by Enrico Bellei, Fortunadrago Font is a horse that expresses itself very well when fresh, and it showed this at its best at the Ippodromo del Visarno in Florence in the Group 2 Grand Prix named after the city of the Medici. Prudent, or rather renouncing by choice, at the start the son of Quite Easy gradually advanced in the second part of the race, going on to decisively attack Derbywinner First Of Mind, who in the meantime had overtaken the initial leader Far West Bi. On the error of First of Mind, in difficulty on the last bend Fortunadrago stretched out, isolating himself at an average of 1.13.5 per km. In second place was a diligent Far West Bi (Antonio Simioli), while in third place came Finalmente Par (Vincenzo Gallo), who in any case confirmed his recent progress culminating with victory in the Andreani di Aversa. A shock price at the betting for Fortunadrago Font, which was even offered at 50 to 1 by some dealers in fixed odds betting. Marjo Natynki's pupil (colours of Ms Olga Esperanza Torres and bred by Le Fontanette) had won the three-year-old Stabile at Aversa last April and was third in the Cittàdi Napoli (Gr.1) this is his best result in group racing. For Enrico Bellei this is the sixth victory in this Grand Prix after those with Top The Gan (1997), Iglesias (2008), Light Kronos (2009), Rodin Inn Ronco (2014) and Telecomando Ok (2016).
