ITALIAN VICTORY IN A GROUP 3 IN LONGCHAMP

La vittoria di Presage Nocturne nel Prix de Barbeville
28/04/2025

It was a positive Sunday for Italian horse racing in every respect. Even abroad, specifically in France, at the Longchamp racecourse in Paris, where Presage Nocturne, a son of Wootton Basset, ridden by Stephan Pasquier, won the Prix de Barbeville, a Group 2 race with a prize fund of €80,000 over a distance of 3,000 metres. trained by Alessandro and Giuseppe Botti, but above all owned by Italians Paolo Zambelli and Carlo Pellegatti, as well as Rana and Aksam Khaddam. Starting from the rear, the grey horse produced an extremely incisive finish that allowed him to catch Internaut (Sea the Stars) and Candelari (Frankel).

This is Presage Nocturne's fifth victory (with seven placings) in 13 races in France. Now the doors could open for him to travel to the United States for the Belmont Gold Cup, which Alessandro Botti already won in 2019 with Amade (by Casamento), or more simply the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (Gr1, €532,000 in prize money) in a month's time at Longchamp.
