THE EMHF GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN MERANO ON MAY 3 AND 4

As already announced, on 3 and 4 May, the Merano Racecourse will host the General Assembly of the EMHF, European & Mediterranean Horseracing Federation, a body of the IFHA (International Federation of Horseracing Authorities) established 25 years ago to coordinate the promotion of horse racing in the Euro-Mediterranean area, promoting the prestige and
reputation of horse racing and cooperation between national authorities in the sector.
On the morning of 3 May, the annual Euro-Mediterranean meeting of Stewards will be held, while in the afternoon the EMHF General Assembly will begin, concluding in the early afternoon of the 4th.
Among the items on the agenda are reports on regulatory issues arising from the meetings of the European Pattern Committee, the European Horserace Scientific Liaison Committee and the International Stud Book Committee, an update on legislative activity within the EU, reports on the situation of the sector in member countries, the
development of promotional activities and projects, and the work of working groups to develop proposals for the future development of the association.
A rich social programme will be available to the approximately 60 delegates arriving from 20 countries: France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Channel Islands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Romania, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Morocco, Belgium, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
Twelve companies will sponsor a commercial area where they will develop
B2B relationships with those present. The Italian delegation will be chaired by Dr Barbara Catizzone, director
of the Dipp4 Office.
