A NEW HOME FOR VARENNE ON THE EVE OF HIS 30TH BIRTHDAY

Varenne is returning to Campania, to his historical owner. Yesterday he left the Cigno di Villanterio stud farm on the outskirts of Pavia to be transferred to Dario De Angelis' LJ breeding farm where he is expected in the evening. Enzo Giordano made this decision also in consideration of the fact that this was the last breeding season of “Il Capitano”, which was moreover only possible thanks to the use of frozen semen. On the threshold of his 30th birthday (he'll celebrate it on 19th May) Varenne returns to Campania where he won, let's not forget, three historic editions of the Gran Premio Lotteria and it's significant that the transfer takes place on the eve of the 76th edition of the great Neapolitan race.

I already know that a big party is being organised for his 30th birthday, but right now the most important thing is to give the ”Captain’ the best accommodation possible.’
