VERNISSAGE WITH THE HEAD-CHECK... RUNS FASTER, POSITIVE TEST IN VIEW OF THE COSTA AZZURRA GRAND PRIX

Today's test at the Turin racecourse for Vernissage Grif was more than positive. Varenne's son took to the track in a preparatory trial in view of the Costa Azzurra Grand Prix on Sunday 6th April with a slightly modified set-up by Alessandro Gocciadoro who restored the so-called ‘headcheck’ (a harness that also provides stable support for the horse's head) and the benefits were clear to see. Despite coming into close contact with the wing of the auto-start, Vernissage managed to avoid any excesses and maintain his trot. Then, once he had set off, he did his part by taking the lead after about 600 metres and finishing the mile at a good average of 1.11.6. In short, a comforting test in view of the next competitions which, as confirmed at the award ceremony by Gennaro Riccio, will be, in fact, the Côte d'Azur, in which he picked a good number 3, and the Lotteria before leaving the competitive activity to concentrate on that of stallion. For the record, Every Time Winner took a good second place.
