EMERAUDE DE BAIS WINS THE VITESSE

Emeraude De Bais precede Etonnant e Ampia Mede Sm sul traguardo del criterium de Vitesse
09/03/2025

A decisive move by Emeraude De Bais with Franck Nivard on the sulky. A finishing straight that led to victory in the Criterium de Vitesse in Cagnes Sur Mer. Benjamin Goetz's pupil, entrusted to ‘Franck the Chill’, as the French driver is nicknamed by his fans, held back in the initial phase, but dug himself a place behind Alrajah One, who had made a start containing Ampia Mede Sm, which was then forced to retreat. However, Gabriele Gelormini didn't oppose Etonnant's advance and so after 500 metres he took the lead, where he remained until halfway along the finishing straight, where Emeraude de Bais, who in the meantime had moved from the rope, overtook him. Third place went to Ampia Mede Sm who had a difficult race as she wasn't able to get away from the lead, but even after having gone around on the outside, she came back in the final stretch overtaking Alrajah One who, for his part, was never able to sprint fully given the slight drop in speed of Etonnant. Worth mentioning is the excellent fifth place of Dylan Dog Font who was last in the fourth outer lane at the entrance to the home straight. 1.10.7 was the time of the winner (eleven years old) who had been second in both the 2023 and 2024 editions and who finally achieved his first Group 1 victory.

EXCELLENT BREAKAWAYS

Two important errors are worth mentioning: Vernissage Grif who, as has often happened in his career, refused to line up behind the autostart, and the highly favoured Go On Boy (50% at the end of the game in France) who made a mistake in the final 150 metres while trying to sprint in pursuit of, at least, a good placing.
