Owner
Man has always owned and bred horses for various purposes, from agriculture to transport to war. Horses for men of command, such as Alexander the Great's Bucephalus, who accompanied sovereigns and leaders and shared their nobility and courage. But also horses for leisure and competition which increased the owner's prestige and popularity.
Precisely from the desire to excel in competitions arose the need for ever better horses, not only in terms of physical performance but also in terms of aesthetic quality and elegance. Horse owners began to select breeds by crossing the most beautiful subjects with those suitable for competitions.
Even today, it is the owners who support the competitiveness of Italian horses with their economic commitment and dedication. Small or large stables, they are the ones who drive the world of equestrian sport. Horse enthusiasts, with managerial skills and financial availability not only to support the costs of purchasing horses, but also those of structures, transport and race registrations. But the satisfaction of a win is priceless and the victory of a horse is the victory of its owner and his stable. Owners do not always entrust their horses to capable riders: sometimes, in fact, if they have the ability and experience, they ride them themselves.
The figure of the owner is very complex and ranges from that of the "stallion owner", owner of horses for breeding, to that of the owners of stables for competition horses, sometimes it can coincide with that of the breeder.
