Freely Jumping

Breeding discipline. The young horse performs jumping tests for the preliminary evaluation of his aptitudes (balance, behavior, strength, style).

The Masaf, as part of the initiatives aimed at valorizing and promoting the Italian saddle horse and anticipating the identification of the aptitudes of young horses born and bred in Italy, organizes the Free Jumping Trophy, a test reserved for subjects registered in the herd books of the Oriental, Anglo-Arab and Italian saddle horses of selected production born and bred in Italy and to subjects registered in the Masaf Sports Registry.

The Trophy, organized in stages, includes tests that take place in a special oval corridor, in the presence of technical personnel who monitor the safety of the horse; the horses' performances are evaluated by two judges and a technician registered in a register kept by Unire.

The test consists of:

a tour without invitations and obstacles;
two test jumps
following the evaluation jumps. After each jump, the horse is always stopped near one of the curves of the route and will then be freed again by the companion to perform the next jump.
During the test, among others, the following characteristics are evaluated:

balance, behavior in front of and after the obstacle;
Force;
style and harmony of the jump;
respect, intelligence and frankness.
