L'ESTRAN, LORD OF GRAN PREMIO MERANO, DISAPPEARED AT THE AGE OF 12

A colic proved fatal for the winner of the Gran Premio Merano, L'Estran, who died at the age of 12. He was the only horse to win the most important obstacle race in Italy four times in a row (he also came second last year) with the prestigious Aichner stable. Winner of 13 races out of 35 and almost 600 thousand euros, he should have been back on the track soon for the next season.
