She had only finished fourth in the Oaks due to some bad luck, but she made up for it in part by winning the Orsi Mangelli and today in Turin Funny Gio definitively reclaimed the sceptre of the 2021 generation in the female category by dominating the 4-year-old Derby Femminile (formerly the GP Città di Torino) at the end of an aggressive race in which she first overcame any resistance from her long-standing rival, Follia D'Esi, and then resist the comeback of her stablemate Fantastic Gio. Among others, the pupil of Alessandro Gocciadoro (colours of the Comiantale stable) was the protagonist of a stratospheric second lap, clocked at 1.10 per km, which in the end allowed her to record the far from negligible average of 1.12 over the 2060 metres of the Piedmontese ring.
