MAGNUS DJUSE, DANIEL WAJERSTEN AND BORUPS VICTORY WIN THE SWEDISH AWARDS

During an elegant social evening held at the Quality Hotel Strawberry in Solna, the Swedish trotting awards for 2024 were presented. Many confirmations and also a few small surprises.
The title of Horse of the Year went to Borups Victory with an impressive 79% of the vote. Last year the son of Googoo GaaGaa put together a fine string of prestigious results, winning, among other races, the Hugo Åbergs Memorial, the Kymi Grand Prix and the Seinäjoki Race, as well as coming second in the Elitloppet. At the end of the award ceremony he was also handed an invitation to participate in the 2025 edition of the great Swedish race at the end of May.
His trainer Daniel Wajersten, the true revelation of the year for Scandinavian trotting, won the trainer of the year award, while the award for best driver went to Magnus A. Djuse. This is the Swedish driver's third consecutive win, and he has also made several forays into Italian racetracks thanks to his collaboration with Alessandro Gocciadoro. This year he received 54% of the votes. A well-deserved success considering that in 2024 Magnus A Djuse set a new personal record, winning 344 races and earning 52,136,191 kronor, or 4.8 million euros.
Other prizes went to Fame And Glory (best 4-year-old), and Eyeofthetiger owned by Per Nordström (best 2-year-old of the year thanks to the Swedish record of 1.12). Another pupil of Daniel Wajersten was awarded best three-year-old: Bullet The Bluesky won the title with over 90% of the votes, thanks to victories in the Swedish Criterium for trotting and in the Breeders Crown.
Double award for Saga Laursen, best jockette in monté races, and best female figure in Swedish trotting.
